Big Steer = Big Price and Some Items
You Should Steer Clear Of. My family of 5 and a daughter's fiance' went to the Big Steer last night and had mixed results. One daughter had the prime rib and it was prepared to perfection. My wife and I did not fare so well with the steak deBurgo, ordering it medium rare and it showing up well done. And the kicker was that the menu states "the restaurant is not responsible for steaks over done". What? I don't recall being in the kitchen preparing the meat so how can the restaurant not be responsible? In addition my wife and I had the potatoes au gratin and they show up with a piece of burnt sliced cheese on the top.
The atmosphere is very dated, think of your neighbor's basement from the 70's. Wood panelling and clunky booths.
Next time I'm in the mood for a quality steak I will be heading to Fleming's.
..I was at this establishment over the weekend of Dec 14th. I am not impressed with the quality of the food, other than the bread- which is great; and the baked potato, which was done perfectly. I had the fried shrimp and it was NOT good. It was tough, the batter was sort of tasteless and heavy as well. I mentioned to my Boyfriend that I thought the shrimp ' wasnt quite right'..but wasnt trying to make a big deal of it. We were at a Christmas party. I decided to call and speak w / a manager about my lack of favor with the food. I happened to get the OWNER on the phone.." Oh, Good".. (Or so I thought. ) Well, he really could have cared less that he he had a customer that was displeased and to add to that..my Boyfriend had the same thing , the Shrimp and he got sick. When I told this to the Owner( ' Randy" ) He said" WELL. maybe your B/F had the flu or something before you ate here..." I WAS APPALLED> I have worked in a restaurant and had NOT EVER heard the owner of where I worked SAY THAT TO A CUSTOMER . I told him . " NO, My B/F did not have the flu. How dare you even say that?" He was so condescending and defensive over the fact that ' his restaurant hasnt ever had any complaints about the shrimp..blah blah blah'..Well, all I know is that is NOT good Customer Relations, and not once did he ever say: " I am sorry that you had an issue. Is there anything I can do to not lose a customer..?" WOW. WONT EVER GO THERE AND WONT RECOMMEND>
Best food and service around. Every time my wife and I come to this resteraunt we are always satisfied. They have great food, great service and a wonderful atmosphere. We are always treated like a customer should be treated. The staff are always friendly and professional. The menu has wide range of foods.
