Not impressed, Unclean – I actually usually tan elsewhere but since my normal salon closes early on Saturdays, I decided to go to Classic Tan because I haven't been tanning in a couple days and am trying to build a base tan. I was on their website before I left my house and it said that they allow you to start tanning up to their close time. I wasn't able to get there until about 10 minutes before close but figured I was good because of what the website said. I walked in and asked the girl behind the counter if I could still tan and she said "well I have to let you regardless" in a really snotty tone. In that second I realized why I never go to Classic Tan anymore. I was about to turn around and walk out but figured that she was just irritated cause it's Saturday night and she probably wanted to get out of there. Regardless, that's not my problem. If their website says that they allow people to walk in up to closing, then you need to expect that you are probably going to be there a little bit after. Anyway, I went back to the room and quickly put on my lotion. I went to wipe off my hands but realized that there wasn't a towel already in the room and I wasn't offered one. They also don't have any sort of baby wipes like they have at my normal salon. They didn't have a mirror in the room which is useful. As anyone knows that uses a lotion with bronzer, you need to wipe off your hands or else they can turn orange. I was irritated but got into the bed. After a few minutes, I realized that there hadn't been any sign on the bed or in the room to indicate that the room had been cleaned after the previous use. I was so grossed out that I immediately got out of the bed. I quicklly got dressed and went out to ask the girl if the bed had been cleaned. Since she was off somewhere doing something, I took it upon myself to look into a couple of the unoccupied rooms. None of the rooms had any signs or anything to let you know they had been cleaned. How are you supposed to know?
Although I'm mad that I wasted $10 for a few minutes of tanning, I'm glad that I can now tell people not to go there. I also checked on their package prices on their website and they are no cheaper than my normal salon. They always try to say that they are cheaper than everyone else but they're not. Even if they were, I would glady pay more money elsewhere to not have to deal with their rude staff and subpar, unclean rooms. I had also went to this location a couple years ago when I wanted to tan before summer and their staff was rude then too. Their staff was very unknowledgable and couldn't answer several of my questions I had about the process. I will not be returning and have already let several of my friends (who also tan) about my experience.
Terrible Customer Service, Rude Management, Just lost a LOYAL customer! – Everytime I've gone to Classic Tan their staff has been young, snotty, rude girls. They've been unfriendly and unhelpful. Last Sunday my friend and I went in to buy a split package. The first girl didn't know what she was doing. She charged my friend and then not me because she didn't know how to enter the package in the computer. We drove to another location across down and that girl didn't know what to do. We were told to come back after 3pm and someone else would be working. I went back home 15 minutes away and came back in the afternoon. THAT girl couldn't figure it out either. She told me that they would waive half the charges for our troubles and let us tan. I went in a couple days later and tanned again...no trouble. I went in a couple days after that and they refused to let me tan, saying I owed them money and they froze my account! I explained to the manager at that location what happened and she was rude and called another manager who supposedly said they would not remove the hold until I paid the account.
I left and called a different location and spoke to the manager. She refused to give me the owner's name and said that she spoke with the girl who helped me. The girl (Tori)completely LIED to her manager. She told her manager that she told me I could tan free that day and that I'd need to come in during the week when a manager was there so I could pay the rest of the charge. NOT what she said whatsoever!! I told the manager this and she said, "If I waive your fee then we lose money and I get in trouble. Sorry for the inconvenience."
I'm just appalled that they have such untrained, uncurteous staff. They're losing money by me nevergoing there again and letting everyone I know (and don't know) what a crappy tanning place this is. I've been a loyal customer there for months and this is how I get treated? Their employees are all extremely immature and rude and LIARS.
