LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! We're treated like family & the food is perfect every time!! Bob & his staff are almost as divine as the food.

Over priced. We ordered the Lasagna and the Chicken Spiedini

Alfredo. Thought the food was a little over priced. They charged extra for the Alfredo and 75 cents extra for the Blue Cheese Salad Dressing. We can afford the 75 cents, but don't nickel and dime the customers when

you present the bill.

Best Italian. I have been going to Latin King for about 40 years. I was raised their spaghetti and meatballs and still crave them. Their onion rings are to die for. We love their extensive wine list. The wait staff have become like family. The owner, Bobby and his son RJ, do a fabulous job making you feel welcome. No one does it better. Not one thing would I change.

One of the Better Italian Restaurants in DSM. Definitely one of the better Italian restaurants in the Des Moines area. The food is always great and so is the service. There are many options to choose from and you are guaranteed to like whatever you order. The restaurant can get a bit too noisy and crowded, especially on the weekends. However if you like Italian, I would recommend coming here.

No taste, noisy environment, and feels crouded even when empty. After reading the reviews for this restuarant I decided to take my wife for Valentines Day Dinner. We actually went the day before Valentines day to avoid the crouds. When we arrived at the location we were interested in the location and the building. It seemed out of place with the surrounding area and we kind of like that kind of thing. There was about 15 cars in the parking area with plenty of room left for more (we arrived at 5pm on a weekday). We were promptly greeted and were shown a table in the new addition. This is where things turned from good to bad. First impression of the new addition was loud. There was only 5 tables (out of about 25 available) that were seated. However, it seemed like there were a hundred people in the room it was so loud. The second thing we noticed was even though only about 20% of the tables were filled we felt packed in and crouded. The tables are so close to eac other you could litterly eat off your neighbors table. At this poin our opinion was dropping fast.

Next is the food. I was not pleased that the tables all had bread pre-placed at the table. The bread was not fresh or even delivered to you. Plus being an Italian restuarant I was expecting some olive oil and spices to dip the bread (dont expect this because it dont exist). So we sampled the bread and if it had been fresh bread it would have been good. If olive oil and spices would have been served with fresh bread it would have been excellent. All in all it turned out to be very disappointing.

So our opinion dropped some more. I orderred the Chicken Spienini and my wife got the gnochi (forgive my spelling) as they were recommened on this site. The only think I can say is utterly tasteless. The Chicken tasted like baked chicken no other taste at all. We shared both dishes and I litterally had to try my wifes 4 times before I tasted anything.

This was over priced ($25 per person) and had no taste. I do not recommend this place.

avoid at all cost. I do not know why everyone in des moines think that this is the only place to eat italian food! we (wife and myself) WAITED FOR 120 MIN (had no reservations fri eve), then when we finally got to our table , the dinning room was to small for all the people that they were trying to serve everyone was packed in to this room and no room .the tables to close to each other the chairs was bumping into each other. The food was not all that great and the servers could not get to the table for good service and they are way over pricy. I will not go back.
