I want to hate this place, but I can't. The phrase "kid in a candy shop" is precisely where I find myself when I walk into Krispy Kreme. I have no idea what they put in their doughnuts, but they taste fresher, creamier, and richer than any I've ever eaten in my life. Grocery store doughnuts, even when "fresh," still have a chemical taste to them. Not with Krispy Kreme.

I try not to indulge too often because these things aren't low in sugar, fat, or calories. However, if you're going to indulge, why not nosh on the best?

Although I appreciate all the varieties, my favorite remains the plain 'ole glazed Krispy Kreme doughnut, which is anything but plain.

Hot donuts only in the morning. I like Krispy Kreme. What's not to like about an indulgent sugar coma, every now and again? A sour note for me is that this location is a Pepsi shop. Now that I know I'll come prepared with my own tasty beverage. Also, the Hot Now sign doesn't illuminate throughout the day here. If you want it hot off the line, you'd better be there between 7 and 10 a.m.. (If you call and they say 7-11, don't believe it, you may just make a wasted trip.)
