This is a great resturant to take anyone to. The bar area upstairs is fun with the loft type feel and all of the pool tables. The food is always good too! Definately hidden though.

Surprisingly Excellent! I now like pork chops!

I went here in October 2004. I was with a large group that had only a few choices on the menu. I believed that the least objectionable was the pork chop meal. I didn't expect much, because pork chop experiences around the family dinner table had always meant dry, bland, tough meat. Blech!

Quite the contrary at Raccoon River. I was amazed that the pork chops were very moist and flavorful. Overall, an excellent meal! By the way, I still wouldn't go out of my way to have pork chops anywhere else (haven't had them since), but I would definitely go back to this restaurant to order them the next time I am in Des Moines.
